For this is a self-portrait I wanted to create a dynamic, interesting & contemporary portrait.

My concept for this painting was to capture the balance between both light & shadow as well as the variations in temperatures within them. My most important goal was not only to create an interesting & dynamic portrait, but a captivating one.
